Carmen Maret

As a flutist, dancer, and tango scholar, Carmen Maret merges music performance with music ethnography. Ms. Maret received her Mater’s in music at Michigan State University with a focus on ethnomusicology. She produced a Master’s thesis in 2005 that looked at tango in the Michigan Argentine Tango club based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Before her interest in tango, Carmen Maret specialized in performance. She received her Bachelor of Music in flute performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Master of Music in flute performance from Michigan State University.
